Black Matter

This is a preview of a graphic novel that started in December 2015 and is taking forever to get off the ground. Full time job and freelance design work taking up all of the time. It will grow.

Jazz Live Mosaic Typography

Work in progress for a friend's jazz club in Camberwell. I've always wanted to translate more ideas into 3D, moving away from print and digital, and mosaic seemed appropriate for this project. No idea how it will turn out (black or white grout?? Just can't picture either..) but very therapeutic to smash your way though.

Colour Splash

Rare experiments in colour, using watercolour, indian ink and white pastels. I felt quite liberated by how little control I had over the paint on the page. Everything happened by accident. I like this process.

Late to the Wacom party

This is the best gift I've ever received and can totally understand why so many people work like this now. Bit weird to get used to the hand-eye-screen coordination, but crisp, clean BLACK lines. And so many possibilities with brushes... This is huge.

Crystal Blue Persuasion

I entered this competition (Little White Lies' call for submissions to illustrate an episode of Breaking Bad) because Ralph Steadman was involved, and not only did he select my drawing to feature in an exhibition alongside his own interpretations of characters/moments from the series, but I met the man! And on my ruddy birthday! Amazing.
